My post for week 86 of the Side by Side photo project with Leslie. You can imagine my delight when I stumbled across this huge graffiti wall on East Houston at Bowery! I took this from the middle of the street with a wide focal length so you can see a little curvature in the street which is fun. I thought the wall was more interesting with the people in the foreground to show some scale.

My post for week 58 of the Side by Side photo project with Leslie. This weekend was the New York City marathon and the route goes past the end of our street so we went to cheer on a few friends who were running. These are the “elite men” who finished in something ridiculous like 2 hours and 10 mins. I almost missed them they were running so fast!
Also running was my friend Isobel who flew all the way from Bonny Scotland to NYC just for the Marathon.
We were also cheering on Chris from DC.
And the lovely Trish from Brooklyn.
Congratulations to all the runners you are truly inspiring and make me want to dust off my running shoes and stop complaining about my old man aches and pains.
Best costume of the day award goes to this guy……

My post for week 49 of the Side by Side photo project with Leslie. We were in Vermont this weekend for a friend’s wedding and this scary house was across the street from our ski lodge. Not a flake of snow in sight, or any axe yielding crazies!

I saw this when we moved into our new place and it’s been a staple phrase in my vocabulary since moving to H St, I guess now we’re leaving I had to snap a pic of it to remember forever. Also I think it might be the start of “In the cement” another new photo project.

We went a walk with Diego and his new ball (and my fish eye) to the park…
I was attracted to the railings and the corners…
and took this next shot for week 46 of the Side by Side photo project with Leslie.
I’ve also decided to do an “in the corner” photo series and took this photo in the apartment hallway get my collection going. I mostly enjoy the fact that you can see down the two perpendicular corridors at the same time. I might have to invest in a real fish eye lens instead of the adapter that I have.

My post for week 44 of the Side by Side photo project with Leslie. More playing around with my tripod and long exposures this time of the iconic Capitol building from my rooftop. I just played with the levels to boost the whiter than whiteness of the capitol dome. Not as exciting as the portrait version but can’t win them all.
